Gene K. Lee, MD, MPH
Endoscopic Brow Lift in Beverly Hills, CA
As we age, the brow and forehead begin to droop downward. Sun exposure, gravity, and constant facial expressions contribute to frown lines, wrinkles, and increased heaviness of the eyebrows and upper eyelids. These facial changes contribute to a tired, angry, or older appearance that often does not reflect how you feel. Fortunately, an endoscopic brow lift is an option for individuals dissatisfied with the appearance of a drooping or wrinkled brow and who want to restore the youthful appearance of their brows and eyes.
An endoscopic brow lift, or “forehead lift,” treats descending eyebrows and restores them to a natural and youthful position. Using small incisions along the hairline, Dr. Lee strategically tightens the tissues supporting the forehead. Dr. Lee frequently combines a brow lift surgery with blepharoplasty, or upper eyelid surgery, to achieve more comprehensive rejuvenation of the upper face and restore optimal vision impacted by eyelid ptosis.
As an experienced facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Gene K. Lee is well-versed in the minimally invasive endoscopic brow lift technique. He aims to produce the most natural-looking results with minimal scarring according to each patient’s needs.
If you are ready to take the next step or would like more information on the endoscopic brow lift, we invite you to our office today and schedule a consultation with Dr. Lee. Our practice is located in Beverly Hills, CA, and we welcome patients from across Southern California.

What Are the Benefits of an Endoscopic Brow Lift?
Aside from lifting the brows and boosting your overall self-confidence, other benefits of an endoscopic brow lift include:
- Restore a youthful brow arch
- Harmonize the upper ⅓ of the face with the other facial features
- Improve upper eyelid heaviness
Compared to other brow lift methods, endoscopic brow lifts generally offer shorter recovery times, less post-operative discomfort, and reduced scarring.
Do You Need A Brow Lift or Eyelid Surgery?
The best way to determine if you need eyelid surgery or a brow lift is to schedule a facial evaluation with a plastic surgeon. They will help determine whether the problem lies with your brows or your upper eyelids. A brow lift will sufficiently raise drooping eyebrows to create an awake and revitalized appearance. However, if an aged appearance is caused by excess skin along the upper eyelid, an eyelid surgery may be necessary. Dr. Lee will evaluate your facial characteristics and concerns to determine which procedure will be best for achieving your goals.
The Endoscopic Brow Lift Process
Once you arrive at our office for your procedure, you’ll meet with Dr. Lee one more time. During this meeting, you can discuss any questions or concerns you might have surrounding your procedure. Dr. Lee will prepare you for surgery by making marks on your forehead where he plans to place the incisions and situate the brow tissue. He’ll use these marks as a guideline while conducting the surgery.
Dr. Gene K. Lee performs endoscopic brow lifts at a fully accredited surgical facility using local sedation or general anesthesia. You will be offered the choice that makes you feel the most comfortable. Once the area is numb or you are fully under anesthesia, he will begin by making 4 or 5 tiny incisions hidden within your hairline. With the endoscope, Dr. Lee has a clear, magnified view of the underlying tissues, allowing for precise and controlled manipulation.
Once your brows have been lifted into the targeted position, Dr. Lee will close and dress the incisions. Most incisions are closed with self-dissolving sutures or surgical skin staplers. You’ll need to refrain from submerging these incisions underwater. Therefore, we encourage our patients to come to their surgery with clean and dry hair since it will be a few days before they can wash it again.
Endoscopic Brow Lift Recovery
After your treatment, Dr. Lee will provide you with a list of post-surgical guidelines. These guidelines will help ensure you achieve your desired results and heal efficiently from surgery. Recovery from an endoscopic brow lift surgery generally requires 10 to 14 days to heal, with full recovery taking 6 weeks.
Due to the minimally invasive technique and small incisions, most patients see a reduction in swelling and bruising after 3-4 days and experience very little discomfort post-operation. We recommend that our patients take one week off from work after their procedure. Any discomfort can be managed with prescription pain medication and cold compresses.
Although you’ll start to feel better after a week or two, it’s important that you continue to rest as your face is still healing and adjusting to having surgery. Your brows and hairline may appear tighter than you expected, but don’t worry— they will continue to settle into a more natural position over the course of six months. Dr. Lee provides personalized follow-up care and attention for all of his patients. If you experience anything concerning at any point during your recovery, do not hesitate to contact our office directly.
